The International civil shelter standard will come into use in 2024. Temet has been involved in making it from the beginning. Temet´s Advisor Jyrki Ronkainen and CEO Juha Simola are opening the process in the video.
The Finnish manufacturer of smart shelter solutions, Temet, has been involved in the preparation of the international civil shelter standard. The standard coming into use next year will level the competition of companies in the international market of civil shelters. Temet has been involved in making it from the beginning. The global standardization organization ISO established a working group preparing a civil shelter standard in the fall of 2021 specifically at Temet's initiative.
The process is an indication of the influencing possibilities of small and medium-sized companies.
Temet is a leading developer, manufacturer, and supplier of explosion protection, CBRN protection and ventilation solutions on an international scale. The company is currently celebrating its 70th anniversary. The company's expertise, experience, products, and services are related to civil protection, military and crisis management needs, as well as various industrial sites. Temet's core competence is civil shelters.
The civil shelter standard, which will be completed next year, will bring industry players on the same line in international competition. The standard unifies practices worldwide and provides instructions for the design, construction, use and maintenance of civil shelters.
If a customer in need of civil shelter tenders their purchase according to the standard, everyone wins. Civil shelters become functional, and the customer can easily compare protection implementers with each other. In addition, companies compete with shelters that meet the same criteria.
